Thanks to a call to Crime Stoppers police from Pacific Pines have charged a local male with 22 offences including a recent spate of stealing from cars around complexes in Pacific Pines and Nerang.

A keen eyed Pacific Pines resident spotted a vehicle that had he had not seen previously in his street and observed a male coming and go to the vehicle but not entering any of the houses in the street.

The super sleuth even took a photo of the vehicle and male. A call to Crime Stoppers with the rego number and description of the vehicle revealed it had been stolen. Police recognised the 25 year-old man and he was subsequently charged and stolen property located. He will appear in Southport Magistrates Court next month.

Victims were reunited with some of their property including hard to replace things like passports and licences. Don’t hesitate to call Police or Crime Stoppers if you see something that isn’t ‘quite right’.

Always remove your valuables from your vehicle and lock it when unattended.
