Police are warning motorists not to leave their motor vehicles unattended for long periods of time if they break down on the M1 after receiving reports of vehicles being stolen from the area. Police are urging motorists to make timely arrangements to remove these vehicles.
Police have been conducting patrols for some time and on Thursday 10 April at about 10.25pm, Police from Coomera intercepted a 52-year-old man near the Pimpama exit allegedly attempting to uplift a broken down motor vehicle.
The male driver from Beenleigh was subsequently charged with stealing the motor vehicle and driving related offences and will appear in the Southport Court House on May 13.
