From Monday April 27, 2015 until Friday May 8, 2015 bad parking, speeding and not wearing bike helmets will be the focus of an operation around schools.
Good behaviour by students, such as using crossings and wearing bike helmets, will be rewarded in the form of McDonalds vouchers. Please think of others when you park around schools and remember roads are for vehicles and pavements are for pedestrians.
Parking on the pavement can not only block access but, can force children and parents with strollers collecting their school-children out onto the road where collisions can occur.
Infringement notices were issued to drivers recently spotted at a local school, demonstrating this bad behaviour.
We hope you support this operation and together we can make a difference in driver’s behaviour around school zones on the Gold Coast and keep our children safe.
