Defects on a vehicle intercepted over the weekend

During the recent wet weather over the weekend Elanora Police Beat were on the lookout for poor driving behaviour.

Police recently intercepted a young p-plate driver exhibiting poor behaviours or hooning.

Along with the poor driving behaviour the vehicle had several defects which ultimately resulted in a loss of licence for the driver. The vehicle was registered to a parent and when they were contacted to ensure the vehicle was legally in the young drivers possession they were less than impressed.

Our experience is that it is the p-plate drivers who have the least driving skill and the most to lose.

I really feel for the residents who have their peace disturbed at the expense of someone thrill seeking. This type of activity especially in a defective vehicle is very dangerous. I don’t want to see young people lose their cars, but more importantly I don’t want to see them lose their lives.
