For several years, the residential stretch of Peachey Rd and Pascoe Rd, Ormeau has been a ‘no truck’ zone. Gold Coast City Council has erected further ‘No truck’ signs near the Vaughan Drive roundabout heading west, and Pascoe Rd roundabout heading east. This is in addition to current signs at the Tillyroen Rd roundabout and Holcim quarry entrance/exit.

Recently Ormeau has experienced a significant increase in traffic congestion on Peachey Rd, Ormeau. Whilst most traffic congestion is motor cars, Police will be enforcing the ‘No truck’ zone to keep the area safe and free of further unnecessary traffic.
This enforcement is targetting trucks that use Peachey Rd as a short cut or thorough fare, instead of travelling the Stanmore Rd route. It is not targetting residents or deliveries to the area that may be exempt from having access to these parts of Peachey Rd.
Drivers who ignore these signs may be issued a $113 infringement notice and loss of 3 demerit points.
