Coolangatta police would like to remind motorists of local road closures due to the upcoming 2015 Cooly Rocks On festival.

The event commences on Friday and comes to a close with street parades and car cruises over the Queen’s Birthday weekend finishing on Monday June 8. It is expected that over 80,000 spectators will attend this year’s festival.

Police have been working with the City of Gold Coast and Cooly Rocks On event organisers to ensure the festival is conducted safely and with minimum disruption to traffic.

Motorists are advised that travelling near the Coolangatta CBD area during this three day event may result in delays due to the traffic diversions that will be in place.

“Cooly Rocks On is traditionally a fun, safe and friendly event and we are expecting it to be so this year. Extra police will be on hand patrolling the event to make sure everyone, both those attending the festival and those living nearby, have an enjoyable and safe weekend with minimal disruption to local residents and businesses.” Acting Senior Sergeant Paul James said.

Delays and traffic congestion may be experienced at the following road closures:
