Between 9pm Wednesday June 10 and 6am Thursday June 11, unknown people have used a blue and or pink spray paint to graffiti extensive amounts of property Gold Coast City Council parks and private property within the Jacobs Ridge Estate.  Police have identified up to 20 people who have had their private vehicles, caravans, trailers, horse floats, fences, dwellings and garages sprayed.

The main words sprayed are ‘OWR’ ‘WEAR’ ‘WEAR ARE HERE’ and ‘WE ARE HERE’.

Senior Constable Adam Oliphant from the Norfolk Village Police Beat says, “Graffiti of this extent is unsightly, and not what this community is about. It not only costs those directly effected with an expensive clean up, but costs the local council thousands of dollars per year to clean up.  This cost is passed on to all rate payers, so as a community we all end up paying for it.”

Police are investigating a number of leads and viewing CCTV from local residents.  Further investigation is being made with staff and students from the local schools and the graffiti identification database in an attempt to identify the owner of the tags.

Police have released the following photographs of some of the damage.
