Police are investigating the assault of a man and a woman in a unit at Surfers Paradise
overnight.
Around 9.15pm three men forced entry to an Old Burleigh Road unit through a locked front door and assaulted a 28-year-old man with a tomahawk.
He sustained a laceration to his forehead and was transported to hospital for treatment to his injury.
A 36-year-old woman who was also in the unit at the time was punched by one of the men and received minor injuries.
All three men fled the scene.
There was no property stolen during the incident
Police believe the victims and the offenders are known to each other.
