Another event challenge for the youth of Jacobs Well and Districts Division was held at the Mt Warren Lanes, Mt Warren Park. Youth meet up at the local Jacobs Well Hall where Police took them in the Beenleigh PCYC bus to the bowling alley.
Two games commenced for three teams with the highest scorers in each team winning tickets to the GC Compound. A few strikes, many lane balls hitting air, even with barriers up and of course food, provided the youth with another enjoyable evening. Their behaviour is exceptional and a credit to their parents. Three youth went home with their prizes.
Senior Constable Duane Killick and I started slow getting ourselves beaten however thanks to the youth being so “outspokenly challenging” we took it up a level and for the pride of the Blue Uniform, took out the two highest scores.
Jacobs Well Police have received encouraging feedback from the community, especially from those persons whose children have grown up already. They say that is is a great thing to see police working with young people as you never know how this can affect their future decisions. They share their stories and it makes you realise what a difference you can make.
