The 24-year-old woman involved in a traffic incident and alleged assault at Molendinar on Tuesday died in hospital last night.
Police were called to a traffic crash at Macquarie Avenue at Molendinar around 8.45am on Tuesday where a car was located down an embankment on its side.
The woman was trapped inside the vehicle and police will allege a 24-year-old Oxenford man assaulted the woman after the crash.
The man was yesterday charged with attempted murder (vicious lawless associate) but police will upgrade the charge to murder.
He was also charged with one count each of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, attempted unlawful use of a motor vehicle, unlawful use of a motor vehicle and contravene a domestic violence order.
A bedside hearing was held for the man yesterday afternoon in hospital.
He has been remanded in custody and is due to appear in Southport Magistrates Court on October 28.
