Gold Coast Detectives investigating the suspicious death of a man at Gilston are appealing for public assistance.
Around 4.45pm yesterday, police discovered the body of a 37-year-old man in a home on Sunbird Court.
South Eastern Regional Crime Co-ordinator, Detective Superintendent David Hutchinson said police would like to speak with anybody who may have been in the area at the time.
“We would like to speak to any person who was in Sunbird Court or Peter Mills Drive any time yesterday, up until about 5pm, who may have seen any person or any vehicle in the vicinity of Sunbird Court or the intersection of Peter Mills Drive,” he said.
Detective Superintendent Hutchinson has confirmed the man sustained gunshot wounds.
“We are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding his death, but at this point in time, no suspects have been identified.
“The house is still being searched, and there are no obvious signs of break and enter, but until the house has been fully and properly examined by scientific police, we won’t be able to give a categorical answer to that.
“This is very early in the investigation, but indications to us at the moment would tend to suggest it’s not a random event, but there are a lot of enquiries still to be made.”
