Robina Division School Security Assistance

Robina Police are seeking the community’s assistance with passive observance and over watch of all divisional schools.

It is an offence just to be on school grounds after hours without authorisation or reasonable excuse under the Education Act.

Unfortunately, a certain element of society commit offences upon soft targets such as school facilities. The needless and reckless vandalism upon these premises are a hindrance to the learning and development of our children.

Over the last school holidays, Robina Police conducted over 60 foot patrols on school grounds, but unfortunately two schools were still subject to such offences as break and enter and wilful damage. Such offences can be committed within very short time frames, and hence appear to have occurred in-between police enforcement and prevention activities.

Robina Police are working in closely with School Principals utilising onsite security measures and other crime prevention strategies to attempt to mitigate such criminal behaviour, stop crime and identify those responsible when such matters are committed.

In building partnerships with community, Robina Police are asking the community to also assist. Community members can assist by keeping vigil and watch on their local school grounds and reporting any suspicious behaviours through School Watch on 131 788 or Policelink on 131 444.
