A 27-year -old Southport man, a patched member of the Nomads OMCG, was charged with three counts of the possession of dangerous drugs and one count each of possession of restricted drugs, possessing property suspected of being used in a crime and possession of a restricted item (baton).

A 27-year-old Southport woman, was also charged with two counts of possession of dangerous drugs, and one count each of possession of restricted drugs, possessing property suspected of being used in a crime, possession of a drug utensil, disobeying a lawful order, possession of a restricted item (baton), possession of tainted property (number plates suspected of being stolen) and breach of bail.

Both are due to appear in the Southport Magistrates Court on December 3.

Detective Inspector Brendan Smith from Taskforce Maxima said it again showed police were finding gang members and their associates in possession of dangerous drugs.

“This continual offending behaviour clearly shows the true nature of these gangs,” Detective Inspector Smith said.

“We are continually locating ICE, a drug which has significant negative impacts on the community, and as such, we will continue to do all we can to improve community safety.

“Gang members who commit offences can expect a visit from investigators if they continue to offend.”
