Officers from Southport Station are taking road safety seriously, stopping by to do a random breath test and licence check as Santa gears up for his annual toy delivery.
Constable Reis Maher and Senior Constable Anita James said that Santa passed all checks and is safe to conduct his 2015 toy delivery on the night of Christmas Eve.
Police will be out in force during the festive season particularly focusing on the Fatal Five: speeding, fatigue, impaired driving (drink and drug), failure to wear a seatbelt, and driver inattention/distraction.
On behalf of all staff and police at Southport Station, we would like to wish the Gold Coast community a Merry Christmas and remind everyone to take care and stay safe over the Christmas and New Year period.
