Police are investigating the attempted armed robbery of a service station at Hope Island in the early hours of this morning.
Around 5am a woman entered the premises at Broadwater Avenue, produced a knife and made demands for money.
The console operator refused to hand over any cash and the woman fled the scene.
She was last seen running in a westerly direction along Hope Island Road.
No one was injured during the incident.
The woman is described as Caucasian, 165cm tall and was dressed in a black zip up jumper with a hoodie and was carrying a bag.
Investigations are continuing.
