A man is assisting police with their enquiries following the stabbing of a 55-year-old man in a park at Palm Beach last night.
Around 7.20pm the man was sitting on a bench in a park at the corner of Jefferson Lane and Palm Beach Avenue drinking with a woman when they were joined by another man aged 40.
The group continued to drink together when an argument occurred between the men.
During the altercation it is alleged the 40-year-old man produced a flick knife and stabbed the victim in the abdomen.
The man was transported to Tweed Heads Hospital by the woman for treatment to his injury which is not life threatening.
The offender was located by police at a service station on the Gold Coast Highway at Palm Beach around 11.30pm.
Investigations are continuing.
