Officers from Taskforce Vanguard arrested a senior member of the Gold Coast chapter of the Bandidos outlaw motorcycle club overnight.
Police, investigating alleged breaches of bail conditions, arrested a 44-year-old man at a Varsity Lakes address.
A 44-year-old man had been released on bail following an alleged assault that occurred at a Varsity Lakes hotel on October 27, 2012. A number of strict conditions had been imposed upon him as part of that bail release.
A 44-year-old Varsity Lakes man is expected to appear in the Southport Magistrates Court today over alleged breaches of bail.
Taskforce Vanguard has been formed to target the criminal elements within OMCGs on the Gold Coast and within the South Eastern Region.
Taskforce Vanguard is a joint policing response comprising of officers from the South Eastern police region and State Crime Command’s Major and Organised Crime Squad, Taskforce Hydra and the State Firearm Investigation Team.
