Two boys have been charged following investigations into the armed robbery of a service station at Helensvale early this morning.
Around 4am it will be alleged two males, one with his face concealed entered the Discovery Drive premises.
One of the boys allegedly produced a machete and an adjustable wrench making demands for money from the female employee.
The 44-year-old employee fled into a back room and the front automated doors have shut locking the boys inside the premises.
It will further be alleged one of the boys grabbed some goods and ran towards the doors where he used the implements to smash the glass door.
A 15-year-old boy and a 16-year-old boy have both been charged with armed robbery.
They will be dealt with under the provisions of the Youth Justice Act.
Investigations are continuing.
