Two men have been charged following police investigations into two alleged bag snatching incidents that occurred in Southport on Tuesday, April 12.
It is alleged the two men, while riding a moped, stole a bag from a 19-year-old woman walking along North Street and have later attempted to steal a bag from a 28-year-old woman walking along Queen Street.
An 18-year-old and a 22-year-old man both from Nerang were taken into custody and charged this evening with one count each of unlawful use of a motor vehicle, attempted robbery in company and robbery in company.
The 22-year-old man was also charged with possession of dangerous drugs and possession of a drug utensil.
Both are due to appear in the Southport Magistrates Court tomorrow.
