The Rotary Club of Broadbeach has again embarked on a mission to find the “Gold Coast Police Officer of the Year” and is asking members of the public to help them with their search.

In its eighth year, the winners will be announced at the South East Region’s Annual Police Gala Awards dinner on Tuesday October 1. The night will also be a fundraiser for the Gold Coast Police Citizen Youth Club at Broadbeach.

Nominations for the 2013 “Gold Coast Police Officer of the Year” award are now open and will close on September 8. The award can be presented to an individual or group, male or female, uniform or plain clothes officers, and of any rank.

Members of the public are asked to nominate a member/s of the service who has demonstrated outstanding acts of courtesy, kindness, understanding, compassion, courage and devotion to duty. Overall they are being assessed on ‘Service Above Self’.

The full categories for the awards include Police Officer of the Year, Police Peer Officer of the Year, Police Support Officer of the Year and Police Unit/Station of the Year.

Anyone wishing to make a formal nomination can do so via a written submission detailing the reasons for the nomination, which can then be emailed to gcpooty12@hotmail.com, or faxed to 55 398 779 or posted to:
