Volunteer Presentation

Gold Coast District Volunteers In Policing (VIPs) were recognised today for their amazing contribution to the Queensland Police Service and the local community. During 2012, 65 VIPs contributed a total of 16,695 hours of service. This equates to an astonishing 2086 working days.

VIPs are based at every Police Station in the Gold Coast District as well as other areas such as Prosecutions, towing, and crime prevention. The range of tasks they undertake complement rather than compete with the roles and responsibilities of paid police officers and staff members.

Chief Superintendent Hollands acknowledged the diverse range of skills and knowledge that each VIP brings to the program. In recognition of their service the Chief Superintendent presented each VIP with a certificate of service.

The next compulsory four day VIP training course for the Gold Coast District will be in mid 2014. For more information on becoming a VIP – click here.
