Drug charges, Mudgeeraba

Gold Coast Rapid Action and Patrols officers have charged a man following the discovery of an elaborate hydroponic set up in Mudgeeraba this week.

Around 7am on Wednesday, September 28 it will be alleged police located a hydroponic set up at the Tuena Street property following the execution of a search warrant.

Police will alleged that the man was growing cannabis after locating 25 cannabis plants, more than 16 kilograms of cannabis material, hydroponic chemicals, lights, hydroponic equipment, steroids and drug utensils inside a house and shed.

The 37-year-old Mudgeeraba man was charged with one count of producing dangerous drugs, four counts of possessing dangerous drugs, stealing electricity, possessing things used in the production of dangerous drugs and possessing drug utensils.

He will appear in Southport Magistrates Court on the October 28.
