Update 1: Death investigation, Broadbeach Waters

Investigations into the death of a 50-year-old man at Broadbeach Waters this morning are continuing with detectives appealing for further information from the public.

Officers were called to Rio Vista Boulevard around 1.25am following reports a man had been struck by a vehicle.

A 50-year-old Yatala man was treated at the scene however he was unable to be revived.

Preliminary information suggests two men, armed with implements, arrived at the residence just prior to the incident and a disturbance occurred.

The deceased man, who was also at the address, went outside to assist those involved and was subsequently struck by a vehicle which then left the scene.

The vehicle is described as a newer style black sedan, possibly a Commodore or Camry.

The men are described as both being Caucasian in appearance, around 180cm tall with a thin build and possibly aged in their early 20s.

A crime scene has been declared on Rio Vista Boulevard between Bobala Avenue and Rudd Street South while investigations continue.
