Police are investigating a serious assault which occurred in Surfers Paradise this afternoon during which a man and a woman were injured.
Initial investigations indicate at around 1.15pm, an incident occurred involving two vehicles which resulted in both vehicles stopping at the corner of Surfers Paradise Boulevarde and Trickett Street.
One man exited his vehicle and approached the other vehicle where the male driver and female passenger had also exited their vehicle.
The two men then became involved in a physical altercation before the man from the first vehicle assaulted the woman. He then assaulted the man again, resulting in him being knocked unconscious and transported to the Gold Coast University Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police would like to speak to a man who left the scene in a white Mitsubishi Lancer.
Investigations are continuing.
