Two people have been charged after a man was allegedly robbed in Varsity Lakes this morning.
At 6.45am, a 28-year-old man was walking along Lake Orr Drive when he was approached by two males on bicycles.
The man was punched in the face, and then pushed in the chest causing him to fall into a railing, causing minor injuries.
It will be alleged one male threatened the victim with what was believed to be a firearm, before his wallet and mobile phone were stolen.
A 17-year-old VarsityLakes man is due to appear in the Southport Magistrates Court on September 24 charged with armed robbery whilst in company.
A 16-year-old Robina boy has been charged with armed robbery whilst in company. He will be dealt with under the provisions of the Youth Justices Act.
