Police are investigating a serious traffic crash that occurred this morning on Tamborine Mountain.
Initial information suggests that at around 6am a vehicle travelling on Tamborine Mountain has left Tamborine Mountain Road and gone down an embankment.
The male driver of the vehicle, believed to be in his 50s, was extracted from the vehicle and transported by ambulance to the Gold Coast University Hospital.
The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating. Enquiries will be made as to whether a medical condition was a factor in the crash.
Tamborine Mountain Road was closed for one and a half hours while crews responded.
