Police have charged a man following an incident that occurred in Southport early yesterday morning, March 11.
It will be alleged that around 2.30am, a man and a woman were involved in a verbal dispute outside a Blake Street address when a second man intervened and struck the first man, causing him to collapse onto the ground.
A 36-year-old man sustained a serious spinal injury and was transported to the Princess Alexandra Hospital for treatment.
A 23-year-old Bundall man has been charged with grievous bodily harm and is due to appear in Southport Magistrates Court on Monday, March 13.
