Mayor Tom Tate said last year, over one million international tourists visited our city, many of them from non-English speaking backgrounds.
“We welcomed 295,000 visitors from China and more than 55,000 from Japan,” Mayor Tate said.
“Over the last nine months, lifeguards have made 1481 rescues and 34,617 preventions.
“By enhancing the safety of our international visitors when they’re at the beach, we continue to develop our beach safety and take pride in doing so.”
