Yesterday morning police officers from Southport Police Station participated in the Citizens March through the streets of Southport to commemorate the sacrifices of servicemen and servicewomen on ANZAC Day, including the sacrifice of members of the Queensland Police who have lost their lives during conflict.

Gold Coast District Officer, Chief Superintendent Terry Borland, took the salute of the police contingent from the dias on Gold Coast Highway, Southport.

Senior Sergeant Brendan Wiblen coordinated officers in various locations to conduct duties such as traffic management, providing security and participating in the mornings activities.

Overall a proud morning for our officers who were involved in such a memorable event whilst ensuing that the 8,000 to 12,000 members of the public who were in attendance remained safe.
