Gold Coast police are supporting victims of domestic and family violence as part of DV awareness month with a pop-up police station for Chicks at the Flicks, at Event Cinemas, Pacific Fair.

Tomorrow night (May 10) from 6pm to 7pm police will be promoting DV awareness and education as well as raising funds for the Domestic Violence Prevention Centre with a raffle for prizes donated by shops within the centre.

Officer in Charge of the Pacific Fair Police Beat, Senior Constable Sarah McGuinness said that police were determined to expose the horrible truth of domestic and family violence through education and awareness.

“The community has really come together to shed light on domestic and family violence and to let the community know that DV will not be tolerated.”

“At the pop-up police station we will have information on community groups and programs that can provide assistance, and you can talk to police if you have any questions. So if you’re in the area tomorrow night please stop by and have a chat.” Senior Constable McGuinness said.
