The One Way Screws initiative is extremely well received by the community with many members of the public previously becoming victims of number plate theft (some multiple times) or they know someone who has been affected.
They are therefore grateful for the opportunity given at these events for the anti-theft screws to be fitted and are overwhelmed at the work undertaken by the Volunteers in Policing (ViPs) in providing this FREE service.
The ViPs were out in force again on Saturday, June 3, in a supermarket car park.
During the registration process the ViPs have an unique opportunity to chat to members of the public and discuss vehicle safety in general and to pass on the numerous important safety messages. Information booklets and giveaways are also distributed during this process.
The work for vehicle safety will continue on the Gold Coast in the coming months where the ViPs will pass on educational resources to the community in an attempt to prevent number plate theft.
