A 19-year-old man was injured after he allegedly jumped from a car park whilst fleeing from police who were attempting to arrest him this afternoon at Robina.

Police were called to a department store at a Robina shopping centre around 3.40pm in relation to the man.

Police located him a short distance from the department store and it will be alleged that when officers spoke to him and attempted to place him under arrest, he fled on foot.

It will be further alleged the man ran through a car park before jumping from the fourth level onto the ground below.

The man continued to run and was located by police hiding nearby.

When located the man was found to have injured his arm and leg and had a laceration to his head. He received treatment at the scene before being transported to Gold Coast University Hospital.

Police investigations are continuing.
