Gold Coast police have released vision in relation to the armed robbery of a man at Surfers Paradise in the early hours of Tuesday September 18.
It is alleged just before 3am, the 25-year-old man was sitting in a rented silver Nissan X-Trail SUV, bearing Victorian registration plates 1JN 9DG, at the intersection of Sunset Boulevard and Peninsula Drive, when a stolen 2005 Mitsubishi Magna – containing four men – parked in front of his vehicle.
One of the men entered the 25-year-old’s vehicle and threatened him with a knife.
The victim exited the car, where a second man stole his car keys, mobile phone and watch, before the two men drove away in his vehicle.
The victim was not injured as a result of the incident.
Later that day, a 29-year-old Southport man was charged with one count of armed robbery in company and two counts each of fraud and unlawful use of a motor vehicle.
Investigations continue into the identity of the second man.
