A 25-year-old man has been charged over the alleged attempted armed robbery of residents of a house at Broadbeach Waters overnight.
Between 10pm and 1.30am a man allegedly armed with a knife entered the house on Fremar Drive and made demands for money.
A 38-year-old male occupant of the house confronted the man and he fled the residence to a nearby house without obtaining any money.
Police attended the scene and detained the man in a neighbouring house.
None of the residents of the house were injured in the incident.
A 25-year-old man from Broadbeach has been charged with three counts of attempted robbery with violence whilst armed and one count of burglary and commit an indictable offence.
He is due to face Southport Magistrates Court today.
