A man is to face court on a charge of dangerous driving following an incident at Clear Island Waters this afternoon.
It will be alleged two motorcycles were driving dangerously on Nerang Broadbeach Road around 4.30pm. Police attempted to intercept the motorcycles however they allegedly failed to stop.
With the assistance of the police helicopter the motorcyclists were tracked to an underground carpark at Cypress Avenue, Palm Beach.
One rider was arrested after colliding with the door of a police vehicle, sustaining minor injuries. The other rider fled the scene on his motorcycle.
It will also be alleged knuckle-dusters were located in the rider’s possession.
A 32-year-old Palm Beach man has also been charged with failing to stop motor vehicle, obstruct police, contravene direction, unlawful possession of a weapon, driving unlicenced and other traffic offences. He is expected to appear at the Southport Magistrates Court tomorrow.
