The wonderful Volunteers in Policing give up their time to assist in educating the community in crime prevention and personal safety strategies. Kay and Judith who work from Broadbeach station have recently visited the Bavia house for the blind and visually impaired to conduct a presentation to the residence.
The information was well received and residences were reminded to have awareness of surrounding, listen, trust and act on your instincts, report suspicious behaviour, call for help if required, do what you think will best preserve your safety, don’t put up a fight for your bag or other possessions if the threat is too high that you will be injured.
The residences were delighted to have QPS representatives attend to speak to them.
Senior Constable Clouston said the volunteers do a fantastic job in the community.
“They provide value information. We couldn’t do what we do without them. They support police in such amazing ways. We are very blessed to have such wonderful people working for our blue team!” Senior Constable Clouston said.
