The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating the death of a man near the Tugun bypass this morning.
About 1am, a 27-year-old man was driving northbound on the Tugun Bypass when it’s believed he was involved in a single vehicle crash whereby his car came to rest near the centre divide of the highway.
Following the crash, the man exited his vehicle and appeared in lane one of the northbound lanes before being struck by an oncoming car.
He died at the scene.
Police investigations are continuing.
