Fraud scam, Gold Coast

Police are warning residence about a scam where a male offender is approaching victims in shopping centres requesting directions to the Pacific Motorway and then attempting to sell clothing items that are imitations.

Police want to inform residents of this scam to ensure they do not become victims.

Many fraud incidents currently happening include:

  • Dating and romance scams
  • Investment scams
  • Threat and penalty scams
  • Unexpected money scams
  • Prize and lottery scams
  • Online shopping, classifieds and auction scams
  • Identity theft
  • Job and employment scams
  • Charity and medical scams
