Secure your keys

Secure your keys, car and home

Palm Beach Police continue to urge residents to secure their cars, secure their keys and secure their homes.

Without keys it is very difficult to take modern motor vehicles. In many instances vehicles are stolen after thieves have gained entry to homes often while residents are sleeping.  It is vital to ensure the house is secure at all times.

Leaving valuables in vehicles is also problematic. It has been common for offenders to just walk the street looking for unlocked cars however recent incidents have seen windows being smashed.

The most common items taken are phones, laptops, wallets and handbags. Other portable items are also generally taken as they can be often used to trade or barter with.

Additionally if parking in the street at home or work vehicle registration plates are also vulnerable.

Police offer a free service with our one way screws program and will exchange your plate screws for one way anti-theft screws.

For details of the next One Way Screws event subscribe to myPolice Gold Coast. Arrangements can be made to attend the Elanora Police Beat 5571 4740 or if you would like it done at your workplace this can be arranged as well.

Remember: Secure your home, secure your car and secure your keys.
