A 21-year-old Southport man has been charged following an incident that occurred in Southport yesterday afternoon.
It will be alleged around 2.30pm a man has attended a residence in Brighton Parade and has sexually assaulted a woman.
Following the assault the man has allegedly stolen a sum of money from the victim and has made threats to her not to contact police.
The man has been charged with one count each of rape, threats, entering premises to commit an indictable offence, deprivation of liberty and possession of drug utensils.
He is due to appear in the Southport Magistrates Court today.
