Police from Taskforce Maxima’s Criminal Economy Unit have charged a 26-year-old man with alleged links to the Bandidos with drug trafficking on the Gold Coast.

The man was one of ten people charged in February this year as part of Operation Mike Reflective, which targeted an alleged multi-million dollar money laundering and investment fraud operation.

Yesterday, as a result of further ongoing inquiries, the 26-year-old man was charged with trafficking in a dangerous drug.

It will be alleged that this took part on the Gold Coast between December 2013 and March 2014.

Police will allege that at the time the 26-year-old male was a close associate and former member of the Bandidos Criminal Motorcycle Gang.

Detective Inspector Phillip Stevens from the Criminal Economy Unit said that the recent arrest demonstrates the Queensland Police Service’s commitment to exposing the totality of crimes being committed by Criminal Motorcycle Gang participants and their associates.

The 26-year-old male is due to appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court on 1 July 2014.
