Gold Coast Police remember their fallen colleagues

Gold Coast Police will today remember their fallen colleagues as part of National Police Remembrance Day.

National Police Remebrance Day honours those officers from all police services who have lost their lives in the line of duty.

Today’s Police Remembrance Day service on the Gold Coast will be preceded by a march from Goodwin Park at Coolangatta to the Twin Towns Services Club at Tweed Heads.

All sections and units of the police service will participate in the march, which will also involve mounted police, police motorcycles and the Dog squad.

The march which involves current and former police officers will commence at 2pm today, Monday 29th September 2014 at Goodwin Park, intersection of Lanham & Scott Streets, Coolangatta.

The March will proceed along Warner Street, into Griffith St, and conclude in Wharf St, outside the Twin Towns Services Club.

Members of the public are advised that there may be some minor disruption to traffic on the above roads for a short period of time between 2pm and 2.15pm due to the march.

The service will commence at 2.30pm at The Showroom, Twin Towns Services Club, Corner Wharf and Boundary Streets, Tweed Heads.
