Here’s some tips for keeping in the loop with your neighbours:
- Get to know your neighbours. Exchange telephone numbers and keep and eye on each other’s homes.
- Report suspicious people or vehicles to police by phoning Crimestoppers 1800 333 000 or Policelink 131 444 or your local police station.
- Join your local Neighbourhood Watch group.
- Become your Neighbourhood Crime Fighter and subscribe to your local area Neighbourhood Watch Queensland online blog to receive regular updates.
If you are going away:
- Ask your neighbours to watch for visitors but not to tell visitors that you are away.
- Arrange a friend or neighbour to mow the lawn, collect your mail and water the plants. These can be sure signs for intruders that nobody is home.
