A man has been charged following an incident involving an allegedly stolen vehicle on the Gold Coast this morning.
It will be alleged that around 8.30am, police received information from a member of the public about a vehicle being driven erratically along Pacific Motorway at Mudgeeraba.
Police attended the location in an attempt to intercept the vehicle however it failed to stop.
The police helicopter (PolAir) was activated and provided advice to officers on the ground as to the location and direction of the vehicle.
A tyre deflation device was successfully deployed on Mudgeeraba Road causing the male driver and sole occupant of the car to pull the vehicle over and then flee on foot.
PolAir tracked the man and directed officers to nearby bushes where he was found hiding.
He was arrested and taken into custody without incident.
A 17-year-old Loganlea man has been charged with one count each of unlawful use of a motor vehicle, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, fail to stop motor vehicle and driving a motor vehicle without a license.
He is due to appear in Southport Magistrate Court tomorrow.
Investigations are continuing.
