A police search of a property at Advancetown as part of the ongoing investigation into the disappearance and suspected murder of Novy Chardon almost two years ago has concluded.
Detective Superintendent Dave Hutchinson said that no items of interest had been located by detectives.
“Although we came up empty-handed today, our determination to solve this case remains as strong as ever.
“I’d like to thank the officers involved in today’s search as well as the dedicated State Emergency Services workers whose contribution is very much valued.
“We believe there are people in the community who know what happened to Mrs Chardon. Last year, a reward of $250,000 was offered for information leading to the prosecution of those responsible. This remains current. An indemnity from prosecution is possible for any accomplice, not having committed the crime, who first comes forward with information.”
The property searched today on Nerang Murwillumbah Road was linked to a person of interest in the investigation at the time of Mrs Chardon’s disappearance but is not currently occupied.
Novy Chardon, then 34, was last seen at an Upper Coomera address on February 6, 2013.
