Police from Taskforce Maxima’s Criminal Economy Unit have arrested and charged a 30-year-old self-employed concreter with drug trafficking. This is the latest arrest as part of an ongoing drug investigation called Operation ‘Mike Manage’.
Operation ‘Mike Manage’ commenced in mid-2014 as a result of information obtained during a 2014 multi-million dollar money laundering and investment fraud investigation (Operation ‘Mike Reflective’).
Yesterday the 30 year old man was charged with trafficking in dangerous drugs including Cocaine and Steroids in the Coolangatta and Gold Coast areas between April 2013 and June 2014.
Police will allege that during this period the male person had associations with a number of persons who were members and/or associated with a number of different Gold Coast and Tweed criminal motorcycle gangs.
Detective Inspector Phillip Stevens from the Criminal Economy Unit said the recent arrest demonstrates the Queensland Police Service’s continuing commitment to exposing the totality of crimes being committed by criminal motorcycle gang participants and their associates.
The 30-year-old male is due to appear in the Southport Magistrates Court on 20 February 2015.
