Taskforce Maxima arrests Mongols associate, Oxenford

An alleged associate of the Mongols CMG was yesterday arrested by Detectives from Task Force Maxima following the execution of a search warrant at an address in Oxenford.

Police will allege they located approximately 46 grams of methylamphetamine, two firearms, significant quantities of ammunition of various calibres, seven MDMA tablets, 65ml of steroids and over $14,000 in cash.

The firearms were located in the bedrooms of the address.

The 24-year-old man was charged with one count each of supply dangerous drug, possess dangerous drug, possession of a weapon, possession of property suspected of being a used in the commission of a crime, fail to secure ammunition, unauthorised possession of explosives (ammunition) and possession of a drug utensil. He is due to appear in the Southport Magistrates Court this morning.

“This is another example of Task Force Maxima’s commitment to policing Criminal Motorcycle Gangs and their networks.  Drugs and weapons are a major community concern and these seizures will impact on the criminal networks of these groups”, Detective Acting Inspector Tim Leadbetter said.

Detectives are continuing investigations.
