Detectives from the Southern Crime Group Gold Coast are urging businesses to be on the look out for counterfeit money, in particular fake $50 notes.
Recent intercepts have police concerned about the high quality of the fake notes. The bottom note in the below photo is an actual $50 note, the top being the fake. It is extremely difficult to tell the difference between the two, even the feel of the notes is almost the same.
Differences can be seen in colour and sharpness when a fake note is compared to a real one.
