Two businesses on the Gold Coast were yesterday issued infringement notices for failure to comply with the Tattoo Parlours Act.

Officers from the State Crime Command’s Licensing Enforcement Unit conducted audits on two tattoo businesses, located on Gold Coast Highway Miami and Cottonwood Place, Oxenford.

Following the audit of the business at Miami, offences under the Tattoo Parlours Act 2013 were identified and an infringement notice issued to the 43-year-old business operator.

After the audit of the Oxenford address, a warning was issued to the operator after non-compliance issues were identified.

“This should be a warning to all tattoo businesses that we are actively enforcing this legislation and will be out there conducting random audits. We will not hesitate to issue these notices should any non-compliance be detected,” Acting Detective Superintendent Mick Trezise, Serious and Organised Crime Squad said.
