Operation Kingsnake, conducted by officers from Palm Beach Police, has been examining drug offences within the local southern area of the Gold Coast.
The final tactical element of this operation was staged on Wednesday April 1. The deployment saw police execute search warrants at a series of properties in Tallebudgera, Palm Beach and Currumbin Waters that resulted in seizures of quantities of the drugs ice, ecstasy and cannabis.
As a result of investigations associated with Operation Kingsnake, Palm Beach Police have charged 9 men and 3 women with 36 charges including possession of a dangerous drug, possession of equipment used in connection with drug offences, possessing drug utensils and contravene police requirement.
Officer-in-Charge of Palm Beach Police, Senior Sergeant Chris Ahearn said that these operations are a key element in our strategy to reduce crime in our local area here, and importantly to reduce the harmful effects that these types of hard drugs can have on people. People who involve themselves in this sort of activity can inevitably expect to face justice,” Senior Sergeant Ahearn said.
All of these offenders were served with Notices to Appear at Southport Magistrates Court on various dates throughout April 2015.
